Ambode pledges to make Lagos tourism destination

Governorship competitor of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has guaranteed Lagosians that he will make the state a preferred tourism shelter in Africa if voted into office in the April 11 gubernatorial surveys.

Ambode, who made the vow at APC fight rally held at Iyana Ejigbo in Oshodi-Isolo zone of the state, said he would give need consideration regarding tourism improvement in the state if voted into force.

“I want to promise all of you on this Ejigbo playground that we are going to turn it into a stadium. You know I have always told you, I am ready to improve on anything that the present governor left unfinished, wherever he stops, I am going to continue with it.

“I have said it, I am going to integrate tourism, hospitality, entertainment and sports together to create more jobs for all our youths. We have said it, we are looking for more jobs for all our young ones, and we would also create an employment trust fund, which would allow you to have access to free capital so that you can do all the things that you have always learnt to do.

“In addition to that, we would create a small credit guarantee scheme for all our small businesses and all our entrepreneurs. What does that do for all of us, it would allow our mothers, our fathers and our young ones to do whatever it is they decide to do on their own,” he said.
The governorship candidate said when they made more benefit, they would utilize more individuals, saying the activity would take more individuals off the road.

He said: "On the off chance that we take more individuals off the road, it would enhance the procurement of the infrastructure. It is all the more about streets in this area. We are going to accomplish more streets, in the same way as I have said; we have more than 6,000 streets fitting in with the nearby governments and around 3,000 fitting in with the state government."

The previous bookkeeper general of the state said arrangements were on to re-engineer movement administration in the state
